Step right in…step right into the Animal Connections Conservation Center. A building dedicated to the SeaWorld Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. It’s also a building where I get to call work, if you can call it work. Here is where I get to bring animals closer to guests to have a once in a lifetime experience. Don’t be scared….lets dive into my world of unique animal encounters.

Tarantulas, scorpions, snakes, birds oh my. These are just a few animals you will see as you enter the Conservation Center. As a member of the Animal Ambassador Team I get to bring these animals and so many more closer to you. This is probably my favorite part of the day. When I get to see a child’s eyes light up as they hold an American Alligator, Burmese Python, or Umbrella Cockatoo. Every afternoon in the summertime we have several photo sessions that allow guests to hold an animal that they might not normally think of when they think SeaWorld. However all these animals have a common bond; a story that we can help tell. That story is conservation. Even the simplest things can help us conserve the world we call home.

Imagine feeling thousands of muscles contract on a snake as it moves through your arms. What about holding a Giant Tegu on your lap and your hands brushing its back, thinking how it feels similar to a basketball. Perhaps being amazed on how soft American Alligators feet are or how hard the bones on its back feel.

I get to share these experiences and so many more. So the next time you are at SeaWorld San Antonio, don’t forget to stop by the Animal Connections Conservation Center and perhaps I can help create an amazing animal encounter.
